and OSHA Presentations
Dear NJGCA Member:
On Wednesday, July 16th, the US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be partnering to provide you with TWO FREE presentations!
The meeting will begin at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, July 16th.
The meeting will be held at 1030 St Georges Ave, Avenel, NJ 07001.
The conference room is on the Lower Level.
Wage-Hour will discuss the Fair Labor Standards Act, tracking hours worked, calculating overtime pay, recordkeeping and the like.
The second half will be an OSHA presentation about safety and health issues such as heat exposure, slips & falls and other potential conditions which could affect workers.
There is a coffee shop/snack bar in the building (and alternatives nearby) and there is free parking.
9:00 - Arrival and Welcome
9:15-10:15 - Discussion of Wage-Hour issues (overtime computation, hours worked, records which must be kept)*
10:15-10:30 - Break
10:30-11:30 - OSHA issues (general safety issues, specific hazards in gas station/convenience store/auto repair workplaces)*
* An opportunity for Q&A will be provided after both presentations
