GREETINGS AND SAL-UTATIONS!

Dear NJGCA Member:

GOOD EVENT, BETTER FEEDBACK

This week, NJGCA held two DEP Compliance Seminars. We took great pains to promote the event and I’m pleased to say we had roughly 160 members attend the meetings.

Members were able to ask questions and get critical Air/Vapor and Underground Storage Tank information – including daily maintenance, rules and regulations – directly from DEP.

We have continually stressed education on these issues; but it is up to you to stay in compliance. Now that you are armed with this knowledge don’t give them the chance to fine you - Keep DEP out of your pockets!

The initial feedback was overwhelmingly positive and I’m thrilled that so many of our members took advantage of this event. Please feel free to reach out to me with any thoughts, comments and feedback.

This week NJGCA went to Trenton to speak out against the Paid Family Leave Act. I testified before the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee and demonstrated the unique way our members would be harmed if this Legislation were to be made law.

The good news is that our organization was one of many opposing the bill and making valid arguments on how Paid Family Leave will further damage New Jersey’s economy. The bad news is that the Committee narrowly passed the measure.

Nevertheless, the bill must still pass in the full Senate and move to the Assembly. Rest assured that NJGCA will continue to oppose this legislation and is actively seeking an amendment to exempt small businesses.

Thanks for reading. See you next week!

Regards,
Sal Risalvato,
Executive Director
