GREETINGS AND SAL-UTATIONS!

Dear NJGCA Member:

THE TOLL-HIKE EXPRESS KEEPS CHUGGING ALONG

Governor Corzine’s Toll Hike-Town Hall Meetings have not gone as well as he had hoped.  It seems the more information is made public, the more residents are frowning on the proposal.

At recent Town Hall Meetings in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, the crowds have attracted over 1,000 people per meeting.  The message was clear: residents are understandably furious with the Governor for putting forth a proposal that jacks tolls 800% by 2022 while not addressing deep spending cuts.

Neverthless
, you are a part of raising opposition to this plan.  We encourage you to share details and Town Hall Meeting information on the toll-hikes with your customers and your employees.  Let them know how this proposal will affect them as much as your small business.

The
reception of last week’s hearings on Paid Family Leave has also gained attention from members of the press and the public.  The battle to stop this legislation is far from over.  I encourage all members to actively oppose this legislation by writing letters to the editor in your local paper or informing your customers as to how this legislation may impact them in the future.

Thanks for reading.  See you next week!

Regards
,

Sal Risalvato
Executive Director
