INSPECTION UPDATE!!
READ THIS FIRST BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR
PARSONS/NJ STATE INSPECTION PROGRAM CONTRACT!!

NJGCA continues to explore both legislative and legal means for us to stop the chaotic situation inflicted upon all the private inspection facilities by MVC/PARSONS/SGS.

Today, time is of the essence.

If you want to continue to do inspections you must enter into the new inspection program.

All applications must be postmarked by June 30, 2009.

If you have decided to enter the new inspection program here is what you should do.

1. Use a Visa or MasterCard to denote how you will pay for your equipment. A credit card offers you some control over your payments while affording you the opportunity to stop payment if there are delays in the program’s deployment.

2. Wherever your signature is required, add the words: “Under Protest”. If there are any legal ramifications to this fiasco, “Under Protest” would indicate you signed under duress and with reservation.

3. Make a copy of all documents you are sending to the MVC for your records.

4. Mail your application certified, return receipt required no later than June 30, 2009.

Additionally, here are a couple of other points of clarification:

Do not forget to add the 7% Sales Tax as a line item on the NJ2009 Unit Order Form and carry that total forward on to the NJ2009 Payment Authorization Form.

If you have only chosen the PIF Stationary Base Unit (Class 1 OBD Only) you can continue to do Class I and Class II Inspections until the new program is in place later this year.  After the new program begins you will only be able to perform Class I inspections and re-inspections on 1996 vehicles and newer.   You will have the option to add the Class II (Add-on Gas Analyzer) at a later date but you will not be able to perform any initial inspections or re-inspections on 1995 vehicles and older until you have the proper new equipment.

NJGCA will continue to pursue every means available to alleviate the pain and anguish this situation is causing you. Stay tuned.
