THE DETAILS

Yesterday, NJGCA and our Allies were successful in getting A-3726/S-2553 - our First Right of Refusal legislation - passed before the General Assembly by a 71-3-3 vote!! 

Furthermore, the amended version of the bill was sent back to full State Senate for their final approval - and the bill passed 37-0!!

Yesterday's proceedings were a MAJOR VICTORY for all small business owners and you should all be proud of this accomplishment!! 

Our deepest thanks to everyone who joined us in Trenton to help us get this bill passed!!

However, we still have ONE FINAL OBSTACLE to go before this measure is enacted:

We must get Governor Corzine to sign A-3726/S-2553 into law!!

That means I need you contact the Governor's Office at 609-292-6000 and ask him to sign First Right of Refusal!!

CALL TODAY, CALL ALL WEEKEND, CALL MONDAY & TUESDAY!!

KEEP CALLING & EMAILING THE GOVERNOR UNTIL HE AGREES TO SIGN THE BILL!!

We all know we are running out of time.  Big Oil and their cohorts are undoubtedly working behind the scenes to get their mass-station sell-off finalized before the Governor signs the bill to make it official. 

We cannot allow that to happen and must convince Governor Corzine to sign the bill AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to protect these lessee dealers!

DO NOT WAIT - ACT NOW!  WE NEED YOUR PARTICIPATION!!

Now that the bill has been approved by both houses of the Legislature, all it needs is the stroke of the Governor's pen to make it official.  It is IMPERATIVE that we convince the Governor to do just that!!

“I operate a small business and respectfully ask Governor Corzine to sign A-3726/S-2553, which was overwhelmingly passed by both houses of the Legislature.  This legislation will stop Big Oil from selling my business location without giving me the opportunity to buy it from them.  However, a sell-off by Big Oil is imminent!  Please tell Governor Corzine to support small businesses like mine and SIGN A-3726/S-2553 TODAY.”

On the first page - under 'Step 1 of 2' - select "Commerce" from the drop-down menu and click "CONTINUE".

On the next page - under 'Step 2 of 2' - select "Small-Business" from the sub-topic drop down menu. 

Then please complete the rest of the form and include all your contact information.  Make sure to fill in the 'message' area asking Governor Corzine to sign A-3726/S-2553 and tell him why it is important to your small business.

Once you have finished, please remember to hit "SEND YOUR MESSAGE" to submit your request.

WE NEED YOU TO MAKE THESE CALLS, SEND OUT EMAILS AND FAXES!!  

But if your small business is to survive, we ALSO need your family, employees, friends, and neighbors to do this as well!  Tell them to call, email, and even leave a message if they can't get through to anyone!!
