THE DETAILS
On Monday, A-3726 - the Assembly version of our First Right of Refusal legislation - will be up for a vote in the Assembly Appropriations Committee. It is IMPERATIVE that you call Committee Members and ask them to vote YES on A-3726!
Then get ready - I need an Army in Trenton next Thursday too!!
First, we need you on Monday to help us convince legislators to pass First Right of Refusal in Committee!
Then, we very well may need you on Thursday to help us get the bill passed before the full Assembly if it gets posted for a floor vote! YES....We do expect it to be passed by the committee with your help!
That means I need YOU, YOUR EMPLOYEES - even YOUR FAMILY - dressed in a station uniform and flooding the State House to speak with Legislators!
You can bet that Big Oil is working behind the scenes to kill the proposal in Committee.
DO NOT LET THEM! WE NEED YOUR PARTICIPATION!!
WHAT YOU MUST DO
STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING & CALL!!
1. CALL COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND TELL THEM TO SUPPORT A-3726!!
Assemblywoman Nellie Pou has posted First Right of Refusal before the Assembly Appropriations Committee with the intent to amend the bill. We have worked hard behind the scenes on these critical amendments and many Committee members support our proposal.
Please call COMMITTEE MEMBERS and ask them to VOTE YES on A-3726!!
Here is what you MUST say when calling:
“Assemblyman OR Assemblywoman: I operate a small business and ask you to support A-3726, which was overwhelmingly passed in the Senate. This important legislation will stop Big Oil from selling my business location without giving me the opportunity to buy it from them. On Monday, May 18th, please support small businesses like mine and VOTE YES on A-3726.”
